Active Schools Festival at Glenpark
The festival, organised by Active Schools Sports Development and which took place at Glenpark, saw 80 pupils from eight schools take part in small-sided games. The festival was the culmination of coaching taking place during the school day at each of the participating schools which helped pupils develop their batting, bowling and fielding skills before having the opportunity to play matches against the other schools.
On the day the pupils enjoyed having the club's professional Mpho Sekhoto take part in the matches and pass on some valuable tips.
Giulio Spella, Active Schools Co-Ordinator, said: “It is fantastic to see so many pupils enjoying the opportunity to take part in the festival. For many it is their first experience of the game, attending a cricket ground and playing in the match.
