Richie Berrington Presentation Evening
An evening to mark Richie Berrington's landmark achievements during season 2012 was held at Glenpark on Friday 8 February.
Richie gained his 100th cricket cap for Scotland during last summer and also scored the very first international Twenty20 century by a UK player when he notched up 100 in just 58 balls against test playing nation Bangladesh in July 2012.
Members gathered in the lounge bar at Glenpark for an informal evening and heard President of the Club, Peter Hempsey, praise Richie for his tremendous achievements.
Richie has played for Greenock since joining as a Junior and has represented Scotland at various junior age group levels before making his senior international debut against Ireland in 2008.
A framed photograph was presented to Richie on behalf of the members by Peter and a copy will also hang in the Clubhouse.
Richie is now in Dubai with the Scotland international side for a very busy and important month during which the team will play a number of warm up games before beginning a series of two T20 matches (3 and 4 March), two One Day International matches (6 and 8 March) and a four day Inter-Continental Cup match (12 to 15 March), all against Afghanistan.
