2024 Awards Evening
The Club held its end of season Awards Evening at Glenpark on the last day of the season. The occasion provided the opportunity to recognise the achievements of both players and supporters.
The Players 1st XI Player of the Year award was won by Chirag Pandher. Chirag had a fine personal season, scoring 175 runs in league and cup matches and also taking a total of 17 wickets. The photograph below shows Chirag receiving his award from the Club's main sponsor Paddy Bryceland of Cleaning Supplies 4U.
The Players Glenpark XI Player of the Year award was won by Inam Khan. Inam had a splendid season playing for both the 1st XI and Glenpark XI during the course of the summer. As a fine all-rounder, Inam amassed over 370 runs and took 22 wickets. Inam received his award from club member Alex Jasper.
The award for the All-rounders of the Year Award went to Connor Nowlan and Angus Tolhurst, the club's overseas players from Brisbane, Australia. Connor scored a total of 672 runs in all matches including a century in a pre-season friendly against Renfrew. He also took a total of 37 wickets with his best match figures 5 wickets for 12 runs against Hillhead in early July. Angus scored a total of 705 runs in all matches and had centuries against Hillhead and Aberdeenshire. He also took a total of 36 wickets with his best match figures 5 wickets for 10 runs against Kilmarnock in early August. They were presented with their trophies by former club captain, Charlie Stewart.
The Captain's Choice for Player of the Year was presented to Ewan Stewart and the photograph below shows Ewan being presented with his award by Club Captain Greg McDougall.
Two awards were handed out for the Most Improved Player in the senior elevens. The award for the 1st XI went to Cammy Calder and that for the Glenpark XI to Hamidullah Safi, the awards being presented by Tom Black and Eddie Ahmad, respectively.
Charlie Stewart also presented an award to Shujaat Hussain for his performance in taking 5 for 22 in the Glenpark XI's last game of the season against Milngavie 2nd XI..
Appreciation Awards were presented to Charlie Loftus (Club President), Colin McDougall (Grants & Child Protection Officer), Alan Boag (Groundsman), Brian Roberts (1st XI Scorer), Emily Norris (Junior Convener), Peter Hempsey (Weekly Media Articles), Iain Robertson (Bar Convener), Mamie Clisham {Juniors), Emma Norris (Match Teas), Lynn Cole (Bar Manager), Jimmy Lepick (Fixture Secretary), Angela Prabhu (Photography), and Paddy Bryceland (Club Sponsor).
The final award of the evening was the Club Player of the Year and this was given to Emily Norris for her work as Junior Cricket Convener and for her excellent playing contribution throughout the season in the Glenpark XI. Emily also plays for the West of Scotland Ladies Team. She received her award from former Greenock and Scotland international Tom Black as can be seen in this photograph.
