Summer Sports Camp at Glenpark

The summer holidays are fast approaching. Schools break up for seven weeks on this coming Wednesday and, as always, for those who are not away, there is the question of what to do with the kids.

An ideal solution for the next two weeks, at least, is the Summer Sports Camp for boys and girls being offered at Glenpark which is situated between Fox Street and Madeira Street in Greenock’s West End and near to the former Greenock Academy, now “Waterloo Road”. Fully qualified coaches will be on hand to welcome girls and boys between the ages of 7 and 12 years of age and a programme of sports will be available between 9am and 1pm five days a week.

The youngsters will have the opportunity to enjoy hockey, handball, softball and Kwik Cricket and take part in mini games and team games.

Glenpark, which is the home of Greenock Cricket Club, is a safe environment for youngsters. It is a fully enclosed ground being walled all the way around and has clubhouse facilities available for youngsters and parents/carers.

The cost of the summer camp is being offered at the very attractive price of £7 per day or £30 if a youngster is signed up for the full week. There is no need to pre-register. Youngsters can turn up on the day.

The Summer Sports Camp is being run initially for two weeks between Monday 2 July and Friday 6 July and from Monday 9 July until Friday 13 July. If, however, there is a demand for further weeks, then the Summer Sports Camp could be offered for a longer period of time during the summer school break.
