Australian youngster, Tom Batters, has agreed to play for Greenock this summer as their Overseas Amateur.
Batters is a 21-years-old right-arm seamer who plays for the prestigious Essendon Cricket Club in Melbourne.
Batters has progressed through the Essendon ranks, breaking into the first team in 2010/11 and has to date played 15 matches in the top flight. He has taken 78 wickets at 25.76 across the grades, including 21 victims at 23.86 in the current season.
The Victorian Premier League is regarded as one of the strongest club competitions in the world and regularly features international and state players, including numerous English county cricketers who ply their trade in Melbourne each year.
Batters will join Greenock and follow in the footsteps of many fellow Australians who have performed with distinction for the club over the years.
