Friday 10th February - Quiz Tournament Round 1

A brand new idea. A quiz tournament run over three nights to determine the Club Quiz Champions. Peter 'Robbo' Robertson will be the quiz-master and teams of no more than 5 can enter, with an entry fee of £5 per night. A substitute will be allowed if one member of any team is unavailable on any of the succeeding nights. The winning team after the 3 rounds will naturally be rewarded with a lavish prize. Friday 9th March and Friday 6th April will be the other nights for this event. It is intended to run the quiz on each night from 8.30pm to 10.30pm, so it won't be too hard on the old brain cells.

Saturday 18th February - Very Late Burnsish Night

Better late than never, the annual haggis, neeps and tatties night will feature plenty of food, supplied by Maureen Harrison and her ever-willing helpers, and music by that man Robbo again ( a very squashed and messy Strip the Willow is planned).

Please email Maureen Harrison or put your name on the list in the Club if you intend to participate in order that Maureen can hunt down the necessary number of haggi. And donations of raffle prizes will be greatly appreciated.

Saturday 17th March - 150th Anniversary Dinner Dance

2012 is a very important year for Greenock Cricket Club as it is the 150th anniversary of its founding in 1862. A number of events will be held during the year to commemorate this achievement and the first of these will be a Dinner Dance to be held in Greenock Town Hall. Tickets for the event are priced at a very reasonable £30 per head and music will be supplied by club favourites, Willie Gorman and his band. The event is NOT black tie, just dressy!!

A number of members are currently working on getting tables of 10. If you wish to attend and have not yet been approached, or even better if you can organise a table of 10 yourself, please email Maureen as soon as possible to let her know. We are looking for a minimum of 250 to attend what is sure to be a great night.
