After last weekend's narrow loss Glenpark bounced back on home turf this Saturday; Steady Eddie keeping his 100% league record as captain, with the team registering their biggest win of the season so far.

The visitors won the toss and decided to bat, a somewhat surprising decision given their record in the league so far. It was soon evident they were not going to fare much better as returning openers from last week, Dave Sharma and Asad Farooq, quickly found success. Dave, again getting movement in the air, hit the stumps twice; Asad matching with an LBW and another bowled. Dave was unlucky not to get another wicket when a fantastic catch behind by Sudeep Chaudhary was adjudged to be an above waist-high no ball (contrary to the Frogbox footage when viewed later!)

Things did not get any better for Clydesdale when Emily Norris replaced Asad and looked like getting a wicket with every ball. No one was surprised when she shattered the stumps of the Clydesdale number three. The next over was even better, with Emily taking wickets with consecutive deliveries - unfortunately she was unable to complete a deserved hat trick.

Ciaran Prabhu replaced Dave, but found it difficult to control the ball, and Jamie Nowell stepped in to complete his over. A few balls later another wicket fell to a sharp catch by Dave at first slip. Adnan Afzal then joined the party, hitting the stumps in the only over he had time to bowl, as Emily completed a splendid day in the field with a catch at square leg, again off Jamie. The innings ended on 38 all out, with no batters reaching double figures.

The target was never going to be a challenge. The skipper opened alongside Jamie, and the pair rattled off the runs in six overs. They dealt mainly in boundaries, with Jamie finishing the innings with three consecutive fours.

It was good for Glenpark to get back to winning ways, but they know they will face a bigger challenge next Saturday away to currently unbeaten Woodfarm. Before that there is Western Cup action against Whitehaugh on Tuesday - it's at Glenpark, and home support is always appreciated!
