Emily Norris in Scottish Cup win
Glenpark's own, Emily Norris, became a Scottish Cup winner at the weekend, when her team, West of Scotland overcame firstly Grange and then Watsonians at Doocot Park, Perth to win the Beyond Boundaries Womens Scottish T20 Cup. They did so emphatically, winning both games by 10 wickets, and Emily played her part in both wins.
In their semi-final against Grange, the Edinburgh side batted first but were routed for just 28 in 10.4 overs. Opening the bowling, Emily took 3 for 12 in three overs as West simply steam-rollered the opposition batting, who were reduced to 11 for 7 before a slight rally got them into the twenties. West had absolutely no problems in overtaking that total to reach the final, knocking off the runs in just 4.2 overs.
Watsonians had a much stiffer task to reach the final, only overtaking Stewart Melville's total in the last over. They batted first in the final, and Emily struck right away with the first wicket. She ended her three overs with 1 for 20 and with her colleagues being equally on the ball, Watsonians were dismissed for 65 in 13.3 overs. Again the West openers had no difficulty with this total, overtaking it in the 11th over.
